Food of Love


Liesel is a locally-trained but internationally experienced chef who’s cooked for, and toured with, famous musicians and celebrities including Shania Twain, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Paul McCartney.

Her refreshing take on wedding menus draw on global inspiration, hand me down secrets, and the freshest, choicest local ingredients – many of them grown on the Estate.

Liesel specializes in comfort food with a modern twist a la Jamie Oliver, and never likes serving the same menu twice. She is affable, approachable, and amenable to client suggestions and requests – but stops short of rehashing stale traditions for the sake of it.

 

A typical menu would include stylish canapés, drizzled carpaccios, succulent seafood, sizzling fillet, salmon sushi, crispy bruschetta, Thai skewers, juicy farm pies and the speciality of the house – Nooitgedacht’s signature leg of lamb that literally falls off the bone.
